Star Cast

Allu Arjun, Anuradha Mehta, Siva, Devi Charan

Arya is the second film of Allu Arjun after that most successful Gangotri. Surprisingly this film is entertaining though it has shades of many films in the same genre.

Arya (Allu Arjun) is an orphan and a goody-goody guy who falls in love with Geeta (Anuradha Mehta) at first sight. Ajay (Siva Balaji) is a spoilt brat and son of a local MP Avataram (Rajan P Dev). He too likes Geeta and proposes to her, but when she refuses, he threatens that he would jump from the terrace of the college. Being a very sensitive girl, Geeta accepts him reluctantly starts loving him.

Ajay's father does not approve of his son?s relationship with Geeta and now Arya helps the lovers to elope and he becomes their protector and saviour as he keeps his deep love for Geeta at heart. And when Ajay leaves Geeta with Arya to meet his dad, it gives her a chance to understand Arya?s feelings and true love for her. And in a clich?d climax at the wedding ?mandap? Geeta runs into the arms of Arya leaving a helpless Ajay behind.

Allu Arjun has proved that Gangotri was no flash in the pan as he has scored with his excellent performance, amazing dancing (Takadhinatom? song) and convincing stunt scenes. His dress sense and body language is also worth mentioning.

Another highlight of the film is the brilliant camera work of Tamil cameraman Ratnavel and music and background score of Devi Sri Prasad. Debutant Anuradha Mehta has the right looks and for a newcomer her performance is ok. Siva as Ajay is very promising .Venu Madhav and Devi Charan?s comedy is good with Sunil doing a guest role as a railway TT.

Verdict: Entertainer
