Yesteryear renowned director Bhagyaraj has given a statement on behalf of South Indian Film Writers Association. According to the statement, the core plot of Murugadoss’ Sarkar and Varun’s Sengol are the same. However, Murugadoss claimed that the story belongs to him and he is ready to face Varun in the court.
Varun has already moved the Madras High Court regarding the issue and the next hearing is on October 30. Sources say that the screenplay of both Sarkar and Sengol are different. Murugadoss is said to be inspired from a real incident happened in Egypt and he will be soon filing his side story on the court.
Insiders say that Sarkar will not be affected much because the treatment of Murugadoss is different from Sengol and according to the copyrights law, minimum seven scenes should be same in two stories to declare plagiarism.
