Though Vetrimaaran removed the controversial dialogue 'Aanda Parambarai' from Asuran, many patrons from the upper-class community have been spreading comments among their caste groups not to watch the film as it talks about the rise of Dalit community. Now, veteran director Bharathiraja has sent out an official statement supporting Vetrimaaran.
"Now, Vetrimaaran has removed the particular line so everyone should stop opposing the film. The film's motto is not to divide Tamil people but to unify them. If you watch Asuran, I'm sure you will recommend others to watch the film", said Bharathiraja in his statement.
Bharathiraja also praised Vetrimaaran, saying that he is a filmmaker who makes films without sentiments like caste, race, and language. While a section of caste outfits are expressing their anger and disappointment, Asuran has registered the best opening for a Dhanush film, in recent times.
