Vasantabalan's Kaaviya Thalaivan got a lot of critical acclaim and took a decent opening at the CBO this week. At multiplexes the Siddharth-Vedhika-Prithviraj film is drawing good crowds and has grossed Rs 94 lakhs in its opening weekend from Chennai city. It is the clear number one.In second place is Sibiraj's Naaigal Jaakirathai, which in its second week is getting children and women audiences. At number three is the multiplex hit Penguins of Madagascar, which is getting family audiences. At number four is the horror flick Thirudan Police and at number five is the rock-steady Kaththi, which is heading for 50 days. Other than these films all other new releases were disappointing.
