The Chennai Box-Office is back with a bang after the recent rains and flooding. It is business as usual, with Dhanush’s Thangamagan taking a good opening at the overseas and domestic markets. The Hindi releases SRK’s Dilwale is very good while Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani has taken an average opening. Thangamagan is the clear number one this week. The film distributed by SPI Cinemas has grossed an impressive Rs 1.55 Crore in Chennai city alone and it is tax free. It is being liked by family audiences and the word-of-mouth is very encouraging. At number two is Dilwale which has grossed around 50 lakhs and in the third position is Baji Rao Mastani, which carries positive reports but collections are below average. Eetti is at number four and is being appreciated. The new releases have affected the film, which can be termed as a hit. Ajith’s Vedalam continues in the fifth position.
