The four day Christmas weekend, December 24 to 27, brought in some cheer to the Chennai Box-Office. It was the best weekend after the Chennai floods with a decent 65 to 75 % occupancy in multiplexes. The number one this week at the CBO is Jayam Ravi’s boxing film Bhooloham, which is being liked by a section of the audiences and has taken a good opening. At number two is Suriya’s Pasanga 2, which is a multiplex film, which also has taken a good opening in smaller screens. In the third place is Star Wars The Force Awakens, which has taken a good opening in select screens. The Tamil version is below average, as Star Wars franchise is not very popular in the state.Thangamagan continues in its second week in smaller multiplex screens and is at number four. Sanjay Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani has virtually knocked out SRK’s Dilwale from the top five. The Ranveer-Deepika-Priyanka starrer in fact had more occupancy in second weekend than the first and is at number five.
