Boyapati Srinu has been waiting to launch his next movie ever since Ram Charan starrer Vinaya Vidheya Rama bombed. For the last six months, he has been trying to make a film with Balakrishna but no producer is willing to invest the money in it.
Boyapati has written a script that warrants Rs 60 to 70 Cr budget but investing such amount on Balakrishna is a like inviting trouble. Balakrishna’s recent movies did bring in theatrical revenue to the tune of Rs 25 Cr. It would be a foolish idea to invest such a huge amount. This is why Boyapati’s proposal was rejected by senior producer Dil Raju. This film will only go to the sets if Boyapati agrees to cut down the budget to Rs 40 Cr.
Boyapati has been telling the producers that the movie will do good business on his brand name but producers feel he has no ‘brand value’ after the failure of VVR.
Now the director is looking for various other options or to direct a totally different subject.
