The recent hot buzz in Kollywood is that after Darbar incurred a huge loss to its distributors, Kalanithi Maran, CEO of Sun Pictures has reduced the remuneration for Superstar Rajinikanth in his upcoming film with director Siva.
Media reports say that before the release of Darbar, Rajinikanth's salary was 100 crores with GST and now, it is reduced by 50%.
But sources close to Rajinikanth have vehemently denied these reports saying that no such incident took place. Meanwhile, distributors of Darbar have started giving interviews that they faced a massive loss by believing in the speeches of Rajinikanth and Murugadoss at the audio launch but they are now refusing to meet them.
While FEFSI's president RK Selvamani says that distributors shouldn't have asked compensation from directors and actors, T Rajendar, the President of distributors' union says that Murugadoss shouldn't have asked police protection from the distressed distributors.
"Distributors just wanted to meet Murugadoss and Rajinikanth and asking police protection against our members is condemnable," said Rajendar.
