Prabhas, Kangana Raunat, Sonu Sood, Makrand Deshpande
Ek Niranjan is the travails of a missing child turned robust youth, who is in search of his parents. As he does so, in the garb of a police informer, it resembles one of Mahesh Babu?s blockbuster movie Pokiri (also directed by Puri Jagannath), but in a different mould. The hilarious adventures smeared with romance and boredom forms the crux of the film.
Chotu (Prabhas) is kidnapped in his childhood by a gangster who later employs him as a tramp. Chotu informs the police about the kidnaper and he was arrested. For this, Chotu is paid a reward of one rupee by the police.
Chotu becomes a police informer and begins his frantic search for his parents. In the process, Chotu meets a music teacher Sameera (Kangana Ranauth) and naturally falls in love with her. Johnny Bhai (Sonu Sood) is a mafia don. Johnny Bhai murders a minister on the instance of the minister?s brother (Posani Krishna Murali) with the help of Khailash (Mukul Dev).
The gang war begins. What is the connection between the gang war and the missing of the hero in his childhood? The scene of action soon shifts to Bangkok. How the various threads are woven together forms the crux of the film.
Prabhas has come up with a good and lively performance in the film. He has improved a lot in his dialogue delivery. He also excelled in dance sequences. Bollywood beauty Kangana Ranauth makes her debut in Tollywood with this film and she is looking gorgeous. Sonu Sood comes up with another dazzling performance after magnum opus Arundathi.
Comedy by Ali, Brahmanandam and Abhinayasri in separate tracks has lost the punch, leading to boredoem. All others - Taniekella Bharani, Sangeetha, Mukul Dev, Makrand, Posani and others ? brought justice to their respective roles.
Director Puri Jagannadh just played a routine stuff in this film. The presentation and narration are very weak, lacking all seriousness. The dialogues are to some extent good. The screenplay was not impressive and there a lot many illogical threads.
Mani Sharma scored excellent background score, particularly for the title song ?Amma ledu Nanna leedu?Ek Niranjan rocks. Cinematography was good. Editing could have been better. The costumes and art departments did a fine job.
The first half is smeared with slipshod comedy, romance and action shots, while the second half races towards an abrupt end, throwing lumps of tedious moments to the audience.
Time pass comedy entertainer
