With his Ezra releasing today, Prithviraj should be keeping his fingers crossed.
He hadn't tasted much success last year and is looking forward to a packed 2017 with so many projects at various stages of completion.
According to him, Ezra, releasing today (Feb 10), is a horror thriller that is different from the usual ones that we see in Malayalam.
Come next year and he will make his directorial debut with Lucifer, which has Mohanlal playing the lead.
In this brief chat, he talks to sify.com about Ezra and more. Excerpts:
What is Ezra about?
Ezra belongs to the horror genre, but it is not a horror comedy that we usually see in Malayalam of late. It has a deep, honest and engrossing story that pans almost a century.
You are doing the Bollywood film Naam Shabana. What is your role like?
I am doing a cameo. I have completed my major portions and only four days of work is left for me.
You are also doing Tiyaan, with your brother Indrajith as your costar, and My Story.
The shooting of My Story is halfway through. I have completed Tiyaan, which is an intense and a complex film.
How excited are you about your directorial debut, Lucifer?
We are currently doing the preparations so that we can start Lucifer next year.
Are you an avid movie buff? How often do you watch movies?
I love to watch films but I don’t get as much time as I would have liked to. But frankly I don’t watch films to learn anything. I watch them to enjoy it.
There was a controversy over your forthcoming film Vimaanam, as the storyline is similar to the soon to come film, Aby?
I am not involved in the controversy. I am shooting for Vimaanam next and after completing the first schedule, I will join Jinu Abraham’s Adam.
