The Chandramukhi audio marketed by AnAK audio will be launched by Asha Bhonsle on Saturday evening (March 5) in Chennai. The film that has music by Vidyasagar is creating history even before the official launch. The cassette is priced at Rs 45 and CD at Rs 99 and has already a booking of 1.5 Lakhs cassettes and 30,000 CD’s from dealers all over India!

It is the biggest ever audio launch for a Tamil film in recent times, when the audio market is at an all time low. The audio promos, a 30 second clipping of a song from the film will start appearing on all channels from March 7. Says Sanjay Wadhwa of AnAK audios: “We are hoping to sell another one Lakh audio cassette of the film before the release on April 14, thereby selling 2.5 Lakh cassettes”.

The audio and CD cover of Chandramukhi has only a larger-than-life still of a smiling Rajnikanth (see pic) that will attract the buyers. Tata Indicom and Sunfeast biscuits are the two brands which have been given billing in the audio cover. It is a tie-up where by the brands will be aggressively promoting the audio.

There are six songs listed on the backside of the cassette and inside the inlay cover the full lyrics of each song are given. The songs are listed in the order they appear in the film and all the six songs have six different lyric writers- Vaali, Yugabharathi, Pa Vijay, Na Muthukumar, Bhavanachandran and Kabilan.

To avoid piracy, AnAK audio has used a silicon liner inside the cassette cover along with a coloured background with Rajnikanth photo and a hologram on top. The audio pirates will now find it difficult to duplicate the original Chandramukhi audio!

The six songs are

“Devuda…Devuda…” sung by S.P.Balasubramaniam

“Konjam Neram…”- Asha Bhonsle, Madhu Balakrishnan
“Athithom…”- S.P.Balasubramaniam, Vaishali
“Kokku Para Para….”- Tipu, Manicka Vinayagam, Rajalakshmi
“Raa Raa…..”- Binni Krishna Kumar, Tipu
“Annanoda Paatu…”- KK, Karthik, Sujatha
