It looks like Vijay Sethupathi's Sanga Thamizhan will have to face a lot of troubles before it releases. Already, Libra Productions, the Tamil Nadu distributor of the film is struggling to get theaters as two biggies Bigil and Kaithi which has influential distributors on board, have blocked almost all screens across Tamil Nadu for Diwali weekend.
The latest update is that famous distributor 7G Siva has initiated a red card for Sanga Thamizhan in Salem area. Siva had previously bought Veeram and Bairavaa from Vijaya Productions, producers of Sanga Thamizhan.
During Veeram's release 7G Siva invested hugely in the film and thought that the makers would get tax exemption from Tamil Nadu Government. But the film failed to get tax waiver and it also incurred a loss to Siva. While other distributors quoted 10% lesser than the actual price (due to no tax exemption), Siva bought Veeram much earlier than the final tax exemption order.
Later, Vijaya Productions promised compensation during Bairavaa release but they didn't fulfil their promise. Now distributors association have clearly told Vijaya Productions that until they return back the 10% amount to Siva, Sanga Thamizhan will not hit the screens in Salem area
