KV Anand's sudden demise has shocked everyone in Tamil film industry. Anand started his career as a freelance photojournalist and had a great command over the visual department.
He was the man behind the grand cinematography of many of Shankar's films including Mudhalvan, Nayak: The Real Hero, Boys, and Sivaji. Especially, the songs in Sivaji had a tremendous buzz for the crystal clear grand visuals.
Anand is also a frequent collaborator of Suriya with whom he had worked in films like Ayan, Maattraan, and the recent Kaappaan, their combination had a separate fanbase.
Anand had also worked as a cinematographer with Mohanlal's hit Malayalam gems like (Minnaram, Thenmavin Kombath, and also directed him later in Kaappaan) and Rajinikanth (Sivaji).
In his illustrious career, Anand also worked with top actors like Vijay Sethupathi (Kavan) and Dhanush (Anegan). Anand had talks with Vijay, Ajith, and few others but those projects didn't take off.
AGS has produced three of his films (Maattraan, Kavan, and Anegan). He also closely worked with writers like Subha, Pattukottai Prabhakar, and Kabilan Vairamuthu. Most of his films had music by Harris Jayaraj.
Anand's Ayan and Ko are the top favorites for many, the former had excellent action episodes on par with international standards while the latter touched upon an important political topic.
Gone too soon KV Anand, Tamil cinema will be missing you.
