Ram Charan starrer Govindhudu Andari Vaadele is now in theatres on the festive season of Dussehra. After a long gap we finally get to see a movie, riding high on emotions and the film is entertaining as well. Story has nothing new to offer but the director has packaged the movie with some fun moments.

What is GAV all about? Let?s analyze. Balaraju (Prakash Raj) is a village elder, who has a strong knit family. His task is the wellbeing and welfare of his village and the people. His son (Rahman) who is a famous doctor in London has different principles. The doctor pursues his career and loves fame and money. He leaves the family and his dad?s commitments for this. Now years later his son Abhiram (Ram Charan) comes to know of his estranged family back in India.

With dreams of uniting the family, Abhiram comes to India and gets into Balaraj?s house on the pretensions of learning agriculture. He gels well with everyone. Abhiram mends broken relations. For this he is helped by his uncle Bangari (Srikanth) and his maradalu (Kajal Agarwal). Rest of the film is all about how Abhiram attains success in his task and unites the family.

Ram Charan who has got the image of an angry young man has done better in this family drama. He looks good and emotes well. The NRI avatar suits him. Director Krishna Vamsi has left no stone unturned to showcase Ram Charan?s hidden talent.

Kajal Agarwal looks beautiful. And she performs well. Ram Charan and she gel perfectly. Prakash Raj and Jayasudha are like always the crown in this film. The climax is a tearjerker; you are sure to shed a tear or two. Srikanth has a brief but a meaty role. Kamalinee Mukharjee plays a minor role. Rest lend good support. Technically the film is good. Great visuals, pleasant scenery and beautiful locales add on to the finesse of the film. Cinematography is first-rate. Editing is not up to the mark.

GAV definitely does have its share of flips. For one, the film reminds you heavily of Pawan Kalyan starrer Attarintiki Daaredi. In Attarintiki Daaredi, hero comes down to India to unite his aunt with his grandfather. In GAV, hero does the same but here he comes down to unite his father with his grandfather. And also the movie reminds us of films like Seetarammayya Gari Manavaralu and Murari (atmosphere and family setup).

At times the emotions in GAV are too much to handle. We fail to understand the relation with Srikanth and Kamalinee Mukherjee. Yuvan?s music is okay. But picturisation of the songs is pretty awesome. Kajal looks hot in the song 'Ra Ra Kumar' that is shot in Jordan.

After long we have seen a good film by Krishna Vamsi. Charan definitely has got a new image by this director.

Overall Govindhudu Andhari Vadele is a neat family drama with the right dash of emotions. The first half is okay, but the second half surely does elevate the film to a different level. Watch GAV this festive season.

Verdict: Neat family entertainer
