Rojin Thomas

Star Cast

Indrans, Sreenath Bhasi, Manju Pillai, Naslen

Director Rojin Thomas’ Home narrates the happenings inside a family, at a certain point of time. The characters here are real and the situations are extremely relatable which hooks you on to it instantly.

Oliver Twist (Indrans) and his wife Kuttiyamma (Manju Pillai) are living in a beautiful home, taking care of the ailing Appachan (Kainakary Thankaraj).

The couple’s elder son Antony (Sreenath Bhasi) is a filmmaker, who is struggling to write his next script even after two years since the release of his first film, which was a big success. Younger son Charles (Naslen) is a budding vlogger.

In one of the scenes, Antony is busy reading the yet to be released autobiography of Joseph Lopez, the father of his fiancée. When Oliver asks him about the book, Antony rudely tells his dad how worthless his life is. Oliver feels hurt by his son’s remarks and decides to do an introspection on his life.

In a role where he proves once again how powerful an actor he is, Indrans needs a round of applause. He conveys the emotions of the character that he is performing quite convincingly.

Though this one moves almost on predictable lines and could have been inspired by movies like Kapoor & Sons for instance, with beautifully created sequences Rojin narrates an engaging drama that could make the viewer think and perhaps, be emotional too. At 2 hours and 41 minutes, one gets the feeling that this one is a bit too long.

With impressive performances, Sreenath Bhasi, Naslen, Manju Pillai, Johny Antony, Vijay Babu, Deepa Thomas and Anoop Menon support the terrific Indrans in making this movie so good.

Home is a well made feel good entertainer that strikes a chord with the viewer in an amazing way. Get a box of tissues to wipe your tears while you switch on this movie, now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Watch it!
