Aishwarya Rajesh and Vijay Sethupathi's emotional drama Ka Pae Ranasingam has got a clean U certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification and the film's production house KJR Studios say that the content is suitable for the family audiences to watch in their home with the help of DTH and Zee Plex.
While industry veteran like Dhananjayan is skeptical about the 199 ₹ pay-per-view strategy, KJR Studios is confident of their decision. Replying to a media report saying Dhananjayan opposed KJR Studios' pricing, the Kaatrin Mozhi producer said: "Come on guys don't drag me into this. It was only a concern about whether audience will accept such a pricing. I also said we have to wait & see the response. I am also eagerly waiting to see how many subscribe to watch. So no opposition. Only expression of my concern".
Later KJR Studios replied:"As a Senior member of the film industry, Mr Dhananjayan has expressed his opinion and although it is skeptical of the release decision we have made for #KaPaeRanasingam, let's respect his opinion. Hoping you would all support & watch our film through your desired DTH operators!".
Directed by debutant filmmaker Virumandi, the film also has Arunraja Kamaraj, Rangaraj Pandey, and Shanumgam Muthuswamy in pivotal characters.
