At the special screening of his classic period drama ‘Hey Ram’, Kamal Haasan said:” After we dropped Marudhanayagam, people said I can’t make a big-budget film in Raaj Kamal Films International. I took it as a challenge and made another big-budget film ‘Hey Ram’ in international standards”.
On the box office performance of the film, Haasan said: “It was a table profit for me. I don’t mind if my films get ignored by the audiences because I’m running in a marathon. You shouldn’t mind about winning yet the focus should be all about completing the race”.
“Hey Ram is a glimpse of my political ideology. 19 years back, I was clear about my views in politics”, added the actor who recalled how Ilaiyaraaja helped him after the original music composer demanded huge money. “Raja agreed to score for the already shot footage, he even added an extra song”, said the actor.
Along with Haasan, Mahatma Gandhi’s Great-Grandson Tushar Gandhi was also present during the screening.
