Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have worked together in only one Tamil film 'Nayakan' but they share a close rapport even now. Ratnam was also present at the inauguration of the new office of Raaj Kamal Films International.
"I was stunned by Mani Ratnam's clarity of thoughts during his first film. Even before his debut, he was clear about the kind of films he wanted to make in the future. I'm sure Rajinikanth will also agree with me because he had worked with Ratnam in Thalapathi", said Kamal.
"There was a funny incident. After finalizing the title of 'Thalapathi', Rajinikanth asked for my suggestion but I wrongly heard it as 'Ganapathi' and told him that it won't work because the title sounds like Vinayagar Chathurthi. But he reiterated again and then, I told him that it's a fantastic title", revealed Haasan on a lighter note.
"They ask me why I made films like Hey Ram and suggested to act in three easy projects instead. But I remembered the conversation I had with Ratnam. After earning so much money, we only want to make films which really intended at a young age. Though we didn't work together, our dream remains the same", added the actor
