It’s well known that Kangana Ranaut is going to play the lead role in the biopic of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
While the Tamil and Telugu versions are titled as ‘Thalaivi’, the makers preferred ‘Jaya’ as the title for the Hindi version. But Kangana has now insisted the team to retain the title ‘Thalaivi’ for the Hindi version too. Kangana told them that when the title of Hollywood films remains unchanged in India, the meaning of the word ‘Thalaivi’ will also be understood by people across the country.
Accepting Kanagana’s point of view, director Vijay and the producers Vibri Media have now decided to change the Hindi version to ‘Thalaivi’.
Kangana is currently learning Tamil and Bharathanatyam for her role in Thalaivi. Sources say that National Award-winning actor Samuthirakani will also be seen playing an important role in the film.
