In an industry where comedy sells better than anything else, Jayasurya has become the first preference after Dileep. Kerala House Vilpanakku is another slapstick comedy from the comedy brigade of Malayalam cinema and director Thaha is back after that super hit Parakkum Thalika.

But sadly this film fails to evoke any laughter with some below the belt comedy and situations seen in a dozen comedy films in the past. By trying to create comedy situations the director losses grip on the story that goes haywire in between.

Dinesan (Jayasurya) and Vallabhan (Harisri Asokan) are friends and they try to sell a palatial house - ?Kerala House? - so that they can make some money as commission. The house is located on the Kerala-Tamilnadu border and finally they are able to convince Narendra Prasad and family to buy the house. But after the family move in, they realize that the border between the two states is through the middle of the house. The other half belongs to a thevar (?Thalaivasal? Vijay). Thevar?s only daughter Sundari (Rathi) is Dinesan?s enemy and she vows to drive the family out of Kerala house. How Sundari falls in love with Dinesan and all the problems are sorted out forms the rest of this comedy riot.

A battalion of comedians like Cochin Haneefa, Salim Kumar, Machan Varghjese, Harisri Asokan and Kovai Sarala try hard to evoke laughter, but the slapstick jokes falls flat most of the time. The situations are vulgar and crude, which makes you squirm in your seat. Music is by Ouseppachan and camera is by Ranjan Abraham is below average.

Verdict: Slapstick torture
