Kinavalli review: Paisa Vasool

Star Cast

Ajmal Zayn, Surabhi Santhosh, Hareesh Kanaaran

Director Sugeeth’s Kinavalli begins with a voice-over that clearly says this one is a “fake story” and there is no point in searching for logic in the plot. If you are buying a ticket for this movie, keep this in mind for sure.

Just like most of the horror stories, this one is also happening in an old bungalow in the midst of a plantation. There is no one to help in the vicinity and it is left to the youngsters in the cast to take care of themselves as they face eerie moments.

Saakshyam: A routine action drama confused with fantasy | Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3 review: Convoluted and trite | Mission Impossible - Fallout review: Outshines the previous editions | Junga review: Has a few funny moments | Mohini review: Biggest attraction in the film is Trisha

The story begins when Ann (Surabhi Santosh) invites her husband Vivek’s (Ajmal Zayn) friends to be part of their wedding anniversary. So Sudheesh (Vijay Johny), Ajith (Krrish Menon), Gopan (Sujith Raj) and Swathi (Sowmya Menon), who are working in various parts of the globe reaches the bungalow.

Now, this particular house has a story to tell. It actually belonged to a foreigner, who was killed during a trip and came back there to his wife, as a ghost.

For all fans of the horror genre who have seen brilliant movies that sends a chill down your spine so easily, this one is not attempting to reach those levels.

With darkness, screeching sounds, old furniture and a mood of fear thatis maintained all along, the story moves ahead at a brisk pace. The lead cast, mostly fresh faces, perform their parts with confidence and dedication.

The humour, even in the midst of all the attempts to scare, keeps the going smooth. Watch out for a terrific show by Hareesh Kanaaran, who tickles the funny bone with his amazing comic timing.

Kinavalli may not offer you too many surprises or scare the hell out of the viewer. But the movie does manage to entertain you with its own share of thrills. Enjoy the fun!

#Kinavalli follows the same beaten to death horror/suspense formula with some good comedies from the in-form Hareesh Kanaran.Technically decent for the size of the film but fails to evoke much panic for its genre.Weakest film of Sugeeth though the debutants show some promise.

#Kinavalli Review :
A Passable Horror Flick With Right Mixture Of Horror + Comedy + Suspence
#Sugeeth Made A Watchable Flick With All Debutants

Liked the way Sujeeth build up the story. Good acting, direction and technical aspects. Its a mix of genres. Not an out and out horror movie. Actor who played the hero was really good. Music also was good. On the downside, its a predictable to large extent.

Ordinary director Sugeeth is back with a bang. #kinavalli is getting good opinion and treated as well crafted horror - comedy movie with some new faces.
