Star Cast

Kunchacko Boban, Master Rudraksh

In director Sidhartha Siva's Kochauvva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho, a young boy has a great fascination to fly in an air plane. How a virtuous soul helps him in fulfilling his dream through author Paulo Coelho's inspirational quotes is what the film is all about.

Ayyappadas (Master Rudraksh) is a school kid living in a sleepy village. His dad is working in the Gulf and when he has a chance to go there with his mother and elder brother, he is delighted. But that never happens.

Then there is a genuine do-gooder in that area named Kochauvva (Kunchacko Boban), who keeps repeating the quote from Paulo Coelho, "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it". Ayyappadas is inspired from Coelho's quotes, when Kochauvva tells him about it.

This one is based on a motivational plot and the storyline, which perhaps is more suited for a short film, has been made into an almost 150 minutes saga that never seems to end. Some characters and incidents happen just like that and the dialogues go on and on.

Of course there is an inherent honesty about this one and there are some fine moments as well. But one can’t help thinking that a simple plot has been stretched a bit too far here.

Master Rudrakash and Kunchacko Boban comes up with earnest performances. Some of the actors like Mukesh and Aju Varghese come in brief appearances and tries to make up for it with long dialogues. Suraj Venjarammoodu is wasted in an inconsequential role as a drunkard.

Anusree has nothing much to do other than to walk with her husband in tow, at regular intervals and to prove the age old theory that the girl who ditches the hero will suffer in life!

Kochauvva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho has been made with genuine intentions. But you would need some real patience to admire it.
