Movie Title

This revenge drama has striking resemblance to Jagapathi Babu's Athanokkade Oka Sainyam

Star Cast

Gopichand, Jagapathi Babu, Anushka, Kalyani, Devraj

This revenge drama has striking resemblance to Jagapathi Babu?s Athanokkade Oka Sainyam. The hero using his brawn more than brain to settle scores with his brother?s rivals is devoid of freshness and the climax is predictable.

Chandu (Gopichand), a naughty college student, is admired by everyone in the campus. He makes friends with a rich girl Indu (Anushka) and it soon blossoms into passionate love for each other. Chandu?s brother is Bose (Jagapathi Babu), an honest police officer who comes from Kadapa, to Hyderabad.

Bose crosses sword with a rowdy-sheeter Section Shankar (Yashpal Sharma), who always escapes law by using his Sections. Sections mean he not only murders his enemies but also wipes out all sorts of evidences. Finding it tough with Bose, Shankar gets him murdered. Interestingly, Shafi (Amith Kumar), a stooge of this villain is in mad infatuation with Indu.

Shankar promises to give him Indu as a gift for killing a bank manager! How does Chandu avenge the killing of his brother and save his ladylove from a maniac? Watch this action galore to find out more.

Gopichand has done extremely well in all the departments ? action, emotion, sentiment, dances, dialogues and what not! Jagapathi Babu as a straight forward police officer is good. Anushka looks is extremely glamorous and she has done her role with conviction.

Yashpal Sharma as the bad man is superb and his characterization is interesting. There is some novelty in the strategies adopted by his role in dealing with enemies. Devraj the Kannada hero as the corrupt DIG is a revelation.

Kota Srinivasa Rao as a News Reporter with Teja TV and the father of the two heroes is good. The manner in which all the three behave like friends is amusing. Brahmanandam,Venu Madhav, Ali, Ahuti Prasad, Dharmavarapu Subramanyam all are good.

The first half is purely a family entertainer filled with comedy, fun and frolic which turns serious in the second half with revenge and action given more importance. Songs by Mani Sharma are excellent though the background score is a letdown. Dialogues are good. Ali?s dialogue (counting the Kayas in human body) : "Thalakaya, Medakaya, Vo Vo" ? evokes heavy laughter in the theatres. Similarly, Brahmanandam?s dialogue to Venu Madhav (who is made to ring the bell as ice cream seller): ?Ghante kadha ani aapesthe, Guthhi Kostha.? ? On the lines of Chiranjeevi?s dialogue in Indra ? "Mukke kadha ani peekesthe, peeka kostha..". Comedy by the trio is good in parts.

Verdict: Average
