'Madras' audio launched

Karthi's Pa Ranjith directed Madras audio was launched at a function last evening at a Chennai five star hotel. The unique thing about the event was except Karthi's father Sivakumar and elder brother Suriya, no outsiders were present and there was no video of trailer or songs from the film shown to invitees.

Three hours before the official launch, the trailer of the movie was launched on YouTube. The trailer got positive reviews as Karthi is shown in a realistic manner against the North Madras milieu.

The entire cast and crew of the film introduced themselves on stage. Singer Gaana Bala sang a song from the movie and music director Santosh Narayanan along with other singers rendered some songs from the film.

Apart from Karthi, heroine Catherine Tresa who is making her debut in Tamil and rest of the cast and crew were present. Sivakumar highlighted his stint as a canvass artist before his entry into movies as actor and wished the team all the success.

Suriya who just returned from Mumbai after wrapping up of the shoot of Anjaan said he could see another Paruthi Veeran in Madras and said Karthi was very excited during the whole shoot. He said it will be a pathbreaking film for his younger brother.

Karthi said originally Madras was to be made by Studio Green for some other younger actor, but he was so impressed with the script, so asked Ranjith to make modifications to the script for him and decided to act in the movie.

The actor also said he was a big fan of music director Santhosh Narayanan and thanked him for giving excellent songs and BGM which he thought had taken the movie to a different level.

Director Attakathi Ranjith said he had accurately portrayed the lives of North Chennai and thanked Karthi for acting in the film and Studio Green for producing as the movie would have a wider reach now.

Most of the supporting actors in the movie mainly theatre artists who are based in North Chennai are making their acting debut for the first time were asked to speak a few words. Studio Green's Prabhu proposed a vote of thanks at the end. Popular VJ Ramya hosted the event. 

Madras is slated for release on July 25.
