The Madras High Court declared that the Nadigar Sangam election held on June 23, 2019, is invalid and ordered fresh polls for the association within three months.
Justice Kalyanasundaram also appointed former Madras HC judge Gokuldas to supervise the fresh polls of the Nadigar Sangam. In 2019, Pandavari Ani comprises of Nassar, Vishal, and Karthi clashed against Sankardoss Ani comprising Baghyaraj, Prashanth, Udhaya, and Kutti Padmini.
But due to the discrepancies in the voters' list based on the complaint received from 61 members, the Registrar of Societies canceled the elections. Nadigar Sangam should spend 2.5 crore rupees for conducting the elections again.
Sources say that the Pandavar Ani and Sankardoss Ani will once again compete in the election and an official announcement is likely to be out very soon.
