In a plea filed by Trident Arts Ravindran, the Madras High Court ordered actor and producer Vishal to not release Chakra on OTT platforms till September 30. The HC also suggested both Ravindran and Vishal to amicably sort out their difference and financial disputes.
Earlier, Ravindran had mentioned in his plea that he produced Vishal's Action at a massive budget of 44 crores only after signing an agreement with the actor stating that he would refund the losses incurred if the film to register a share of 20 crores from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
As the film collected 7.7 crores in Tamil Nadu and 4 cr in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Ravindran wants Vishal to pay him 8.3 crores. While Vishal initially promised to do one more film with Trident Arts, he produced the script narrated to Ravindran under his banner Vishal Film Factory.
Shocked by this decision of Vishal, Ravindran moved the High court to put an interim stay order against the actor's Chakra. In his plea, Vishal has said that he is yet to sell the streaming rights of the film to any OTT platform.
