The big success of Drishyam 2 has given a fresh lease of life for Mollywood. Though the movie released directly on OTT, the appreciation that it received was spectacular.
Even then Malayalam has been waiting for cinema halls to be packed once again. The movies which released after the reopening of the theatres this January has been facing a serious shortage of viewers.
All this could change during this Eid as three of Mollywood’s most eagerly awaited movies will clash on May 13, as per current plans.
The magnum opus Marakkar : Arabikkadalinte Simham, directed by Priyadarshan with Mohanlal in the lead, Malik, directed by Mahesh Narayanan with Fahadh Faasil as the hero and Thuramukham, directed by Rajeev Ravi with Nivin Pauly as the hero could release on the same date.
Meanwhile, Srinath Rajendran’s Kurup, which has Dulquer Salmaan in the title role, is another release that could possibly join the race. However, the release date of Kurup has not been announced yet.
Malayalam cinema is waiting for the viewers to make the theatres full, once again.
