Sandalwood's star couple - Sunder Raj and Pramila Joshai's daughter Meghana Raj who is one of the top players amongst actresses in Mollywood, is the new toast of Sandalwood as well.

Though Meghana made her Kannada film debut with Punda in 2009, her performance failed to fetch her much needed recognition and her career was thought to have seen a dead end, though she won the Suvarna Film Award for Best Debut Actress. Despite the fact that the star kid failed to gain films in Sandalwood, her career saw new horizons in Mollywood and Meghana became the hot favourite of the neighbouring film industries.

After a break of 4 years, Meghana Raj's presence on Kannada silver screen mesmerized the audience and she impressed the film makers too with her performance in Rajahuli, where she was seen with a physique revamp as well. After Rajahuli, it was Suni's directorial Bahuparak that accentuated her potentiality as a multitalented actress. Having made her impact in the Sandalwood aura with the opportunities that she got, the pretty lass has now bagged her third project in Kannada films, titled Allama which is being directed by veteran director TS Naghabarana.

The actress flaunting her versatility once again, will be seen in the role of a dancer of 12th century, since the movie is a period film set in the 12th century, and is based on the life of a mystic saint and Vachana poet Allama Prabhu. The photo shoot of the movie which was held recently witnessed Meghana posing piously for the role; if she will be able to pull of the role with the same dignity or not has to be watched on screen.
