The #MeToo movement, a social media campaign against sexual harassment and sexual assault in the workplace originated in the US and now, women journalists who are working in the popular media houses in India have been revealing a lot of shocking incidents happened to them.
The #MeToo movement has become viral in Tamil Nadu after singer Chinmayi took to her Twitter space to talk about how a popular YouTube reviewer Prashanth has DM-ed her in an inappropriate manner.
Though Prashanth has completely denied it and called Chinmayi’s tweet is nothing but an act of animosity, the singer also posted a screenshot of one such conversation between the reviewer and another victim.
Chinmayi has now shocked the entire Kollywood by posting the horrific story of two singers who were affected by National Award winning senior lyricist Vairamuthu.
On reading Chinmayi’s tweets, we get to know that Vairamuthu is said to have crossed the line with women singers at his Besant Nagar residence. After Chinmayi’s tweets, a hashtag #SexualPredatorVairamuthu trended on Twitter.
