The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed the Tamil Nadu Government to revoke its order to allow 100% occupancy in theaters despite the COVID19 pandemic.

Recently, the Tamil Nadu Government passed an order to allow theaters to fill 100% audiences from the earlier allowed 50%. Many social activists, doctors, and medical professionals criticized this move of the Tamil Nadu Government because the pandemic still prevails in the country.

Reacting to the MHA's statement, Kadambur Raju, the Tamil Nadu Minister of Information and Publicity has said that they will consider the MHA's instruction and take the next step.

If the Tamil Nadu Government revokes the order, it would be a big blow for the producers of the two Pongal releases--Master and Eeswaran as they have locked the distribution deals keeping in mind that the Government would allow 100% occupancy.
