Malayalam superstar Mohanlal was shooting for Jeethu Joseph’s RAM when the Covid 19 pandemic outbreak happened. The cast and crew were all set to go to London but that plan had to postponed.
Also the release of Marakkar : Arabikkadainte Simham had to be postponed as well, due to the lockdown.
The hero had to take a break and some months later, he started shooting for the sequel to his 2013 blockbuster Drishyam, directed by Jeethu Joseph.
Drishyam was the first Malayalam movie to cross the 50 crore box office collection mark. The movie has been remade in most Indian languages and also in Sinhalese and Chinese.
There was a controversy when it was announced that Drishyam 2 would be an OTT release. But from the moment the movie was open for the viewers on Feb 19, there have all been praises and fabulous reviews.
Jeethu has already started shooting the Telugu remake of Drishyam 2.
Mohanlal, who has completed B Unnikrishnan’s Aarattu, is now gearing up to start his directorial debut, Barroz: Guardian of D’ Gama’s Treasure.
After making his on-screen entry as a villain way back in the 1980’s Manjil Virinja Pookkal, Mohanlal continues to be the most loved actor in Malayalam. The spectacular Drishyam 2 showed the world this month, how this genius actor gets into the shoes of his character with so much ease, yet again.
