Tamil ( Eega in Telugu) has turned out to be the highest grossing bi-lingual in Tamil. It was a great film with a big heart. Naan Ee
in 50 days, has grossed Rs 24,46, 33,483 (24.46 Cr) and has collected a share of Rs 8.5 Crore after deduction of entertainment tax (30%), theatre share and commissions paid to distributors fromtheatricals alone.Naan Ee
has surpassed the collection of Anushka’s Kodi Ramakrishna directed Telugu to Tamil dubbing Arundathi’
s record. Three years back the dubbed Arundathi had got a theatrical share of Rs 6.5 Crore from Tamil Nadu.
Thenandal Films is said to have purchased Arundathi
dubbing rights for Rs 5 Crores and sold it to local distributors. Naan Ee was made as a bi-lingual by SS Rajamouli with Santhanam roped in specifically for the Tamil version. It has emerged as the highest grossing bi-lingual of all times.
PVP Cinemas has purchased Naan Ee
rights from producer Sai Korrapati for Rs 5 Crore and marketed it themselves through various well known distributors like Tiruppur Subramaniam and others on commission basis. Naan Ee has taken a theatrical share of Rs 8.5Crores in 50 days from 221 releasing theatres, out of which 72 screens celebrated 50 days.
Added to that, the market leader Sun TV purchased the satellite television rights of the film for a whopping Rs 3.5Crore.
PVP Cinemas by their aggressive marketing and promotions made Naan Ee
