The Tamil Nadu Government has ordered theaters and shopping malls to be closed in the sixteen border districts of the state until March 31. Hence, Tamil film producers have decided to not release any new films from March 20 to March 31.
Also, last week releases including Dharala Prabhu, Walter, and Asuraguru took a big hit because of the ongoing coronavirus threat and the shutdown of theaters will increase the risk further.
Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana theaters are closed so there is no point in releasing Tamil biggies right now as all these three states contributed a lot in the overall box office revenue.
If the situation persists, the release date of Master and other biggies is also likely to be postponed.
