Earlier one of the factions of the Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association (TFEA) had issued a red card against the film, for selling the satellite right of the film to Sun TV, who had dues with them from earlier films.
On Friday (Dec 2) a press note from various industry associations headed by SAChandrasekar, Kalaipuli G Sekaran, Jayakumar, Abirami Ramanathan and Sathya Seelan was issued saying that none of the associations had any problems with the release of Osthi.
Meanwhile Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association (TFEA), headed by R Panneerselvam held a press conference stating that they will boycott the release of not only Osthi but also Mambattiyan whose satellite rights have been purchased by Sun TV.
TFEA says they will continue to boycott films that have sold their satellite rights or are produced or distributed by Sun TV network. However producers are confident the eagerly awaited STR film will hit the screens on December 8!
