The film with top director S S Rajamouli with Ram Charan Teja as hero was launched on Sunday morning (March 2, 2008) at FNCC, Hyderabad.
The muhurat shot was done on hero Ram Charan and heroine Kajal Agarwal. Megastar Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Naga Babu, D Ramanaidu, DVS Raju and other bigwigs of film industry graced the ceremony. Produced by Allu Aravind, the film is being made in a grand scale. The film’s regular shoot begins from March 15th in Rajasthan. BVSN Prasad is co-producing the film.
Rajamouli said that it is a love story with reincarnation angle. "For the first time I am doing a love story. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be action episodes. In fact, there are lots of action sequences too but primarily it is a love story. The first life story happens 400 years back. That is the reason why we are shooting the film in Rajasthan where we are going to shoot important scenes for a month" said the ace director.
He also denied the reports that Sridevi (Mrs Boney Kapoor) is making a comeback with this film. “They are false reports. Nor did we title the film Dheerudu” he put an end to the rumours. "Generally in my films you find that heroes excel in perfect dance movements and in action sequences but Charan has proved in those departments in his very first movie. He has made my task tough. I take it as a challenge," he added.
Said producer Allu Aravind: "Presently we are producing three big films on our banner. Hence I asked my friend BVSN Prasad to look after the production. I thank Prasad for taking huge responsibility. I need not to say about Rajamouli. Everyone knows his capabilities,"
Ram Charan said : “I liked script immensely. After a long gap, I am facing the camera now. Some of the elements in the script are close to my heart and they are my personal choices. I am happy to work with Rajamouli gaaru for my second film. I hope you won't categorize me in one slot" Heroine Kajal felt that the film is a great challenge for her. "I will give my best shot to it," she hoped.
