At the inaugural event of Raaj Kamal Films International's new office, Rajinikanth said: "In my free time, I only watch three films-- Marlon Brando's 'The God Father', Sivaji Ganesan's Thiruvilayadal, and Kamal Haasan's 'Hey Ram'. I've watched Hey Ram nearly forty to fifty times".
"When Kamal Haasan started his debut production venture 'Raja Paarvai', Sivaji sir told me to advise Kamal Haasan to not get into production. Later, I was stunned by RKFI's Apoorva Sagotharargal. In the wee hours, I went to Kamal's residence and congratulated him. I even told him that had I was a junior, I would have fallen at his feet. Thevar Magan produced and acted by Kamal Haasan was a classic", added Rajinikanth.
"Despite his political plunge, Kamal would continue making films and introducing new directors through Raaj Kamal Films International. The new office looks grand", said the Darbar actor.
Rajinikanth also said that Kamal Haasan was the favorite student of his guru K Balachander. "It was a thoughtful gesture by Kamal Haasan to unveil a statue for Balachander sir at RKFI on the birthday of his one more guru Anandhu", said Rajinikanth.
