Interacting with the media today in Chennai, Rajinikanth opened about the recent controversy on the legendary Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar.
"Thiruvalluvar is a saint. His Tirukkural clearly tells that he is a believer of God and not an atheist. But categorizing him and fighting over his religion is needless because saints are common to all of us. Our country has a lot of issues so let's discuss it for the betterment for the people", said Rajinikanth.
On BJP's leaders meeting him often, Rajinikanth "They are trying to paint me saffron just like how they are approaching the Thiruvalluvar issue. Neither Thiruvalluvar nor I will become a prey for the saffron trap", added Rajinikanth and clarified his stand towards BJP.
