Review: Jayee Bhava

Director

Naren Kondapati

Star Cast

Nandamuri Kalyanram, Hansika, Mukesh Rishi, Jayaprakash Reddy, Ashish Vidyarthi

The film Jayee Bhava is about two close friends, who turn arch rivals due to the villainy of their mutual enemy. The pranks of the hero to get them reunited and the hilarious moves to undo to the vile design of their rival, forms the rest of the story.

Bhavani Shankar (Mukesh Rishi) and Narasimha (Jayaprakash reddy) are best friends working in a factory. Yaadu (Ahsish Vidyarthi) who also works in the same factory plays the baddy and manages to ruin their friendship. Yadu soon becomes a big don and moves to Hong Kong.

Ram (Kalyan Ram), son of Bhavani Shankar, is pursuing his education overseas. Ram?s father does not want him to enter the dark world of gang rivalry and hence has sent him abroad. On a visit home, Ram grows fond of Narasimha. Soon, Ram realizes that both Bhavani and Narasimha were thick friends in the past until Yadu separated them.

Bhavani grows wary of his son?s attachment to Narsimha and asks him to return abroad. But instead Ram goes to Hong Kong, traps Yadu and gets him arrested. In the process Ram meets Anjali (Hansika) in Hong Kong and both of them fall in love after a series of events.

After this escapade, Ram returns to India only to find out that Anjali is none other than Narasimha?s daughter. From then on, the two lovers decide to unite the two enemies. What happens from there on is the crux of the story.

Kalyan Ram has acted well in this film and shows great ease in the dance and fight sequence. But his comedy was stilted. Hansika is just eye candy in the film.

Mukesh Rishi, Jayaprakash Reddy make the cut, while Ashish Vidyarthi does an outstanding villain. Raghu Babu, Ali, Brahmanandam and Venu Madhav have managed to raise some laughs. Benerjee is okay. Prema?s is too small a role.

Debutant director Naren has come up with an old story in a fresh package. However, boredom pervades the movie from the start to finish. The dialogues are good but the screenplay could have been better.

The rivalry between the two friends and their reunion lacked the natural development, but is not minus the drama. S Thaman?s background music and songs are addictive.

The cinematography of Dasaradhi Sivendra is neat. As for the editing, it was lacking as the film neared climax.

Verdict: Average
