A remake of the Kannada hit, Charminar, Lagadpati Sirisha-Sridhar's Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini turns out to be a dull love story. A simple Google search will tells us that the Kannada movie revolved around four aspects - parents, friends, teachers and a lover - playing key roles in a successful man's life. In the Telugu version, the story is based on the love story of Krishna and Radha. Clearly, the angle has been changed and thereby ending up as a pretentious love story with moments that tests the viewer's patience.

Although the Telugu version too is directed by the original Kannada director, Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini tells the story of a businessman Krishna in USA reminiscing his bygone days. Krishna (Sudheer Babu) is invited by his school friends at his village to attend the alumni meet. Despite his busy schedule in USA, he agrees to come down to the village hoping to meet his childhood friend Radha (Nanditha).

And the story goes into flashback mode to his school life. He liked the beautiful Radha in the 8th standard. When they graduate to high school, he writes a love letter to her which is found by Radha's mother (Pragati). She hands the letter to the principal who scolds Krishna. Later he joins Engineering college, and she joins Koti Women's college in Hyderabad. After college life, he gets job and comes down to her house to tell about his love and her mother begs him to not propose to her daughter as entire family depends on her earnings. He sacrifices his love, moves to USA and becomes successful. All through his education and professional life, his love for Radha plays a key role in success. When he comes down to alumni meet, he again goes to Radha's house only to get a shock.

Sudheer Babu in Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini has given his best. Although he looked odd in the role of a college student, there is sincerity in his performance. Nanditha is good in her role as a homely girl. There is unnecessary and awkward comedy by Saptagiri and Raghu Babu. Posani is seen in his style; Pragati and the actress who played Sudheer's mother go overboard in their brief roles. Chaitanya Krishna as villain is wasted.

Cinematography and production values are impressive. Editing is quite unimpressive. Music is ordinary except for one song.

All the characters in the movie exhibit unnatural emotions. What is love? The answer to this question is explained umpteen times in varying ways by the director. And the protagonist's unending love for heroine is told in a never ending way. Such sloppy sequences, preachy dialogues have spoiled the show despite an interesting end. A tighter version would have made some difference.

Verdict: Sloppy love story
