Samantha is super excited and thrilled about U-turn because the business and marketing of the film are only based on her, she is the biggest attraction for audiences, theater owners and distributors.

Talking about how she came to know about the Kannada version U-Turn, Samantha said “I know director Pawan right from his Lucia days and I’m a big fan of his works so working with him has always been in the pipeline. When I watched the trailer of the Kannada version, called Pawan and asked why he didn’t approach me to play the lead role in U-Turn. Later, he sent the script and I really loved it. Only thing is my prior commitments and the short hairdo delayed the commencement of the remake”.

Talking about her short hair in the film, the pretty actress said: “There is a myth created in the showbiz that only long hair defines beauty but that’s wrong. In the film, I play a journalist who is the first freak so she has to get ready in 15 minutes and hence, the short hairdo is mandatory. Even while shooting for my portions, got ready in 15 minutes because I really don’t have to worry much about my hair and makeup. It was a liberating experience (smiles)”.

Samantha promises that U-Turn will keep the audiences on the edge of their seats for two hours.

“The film doesn’t belong to one genre and it’s not female-centric. Of course, the lady is taking the story forward otherwise, it’s an entertainer. After you walked out of the theaters, the film would still linger in your minds. Also, it’s the kind of film I would to like watch in theaters”, said Samantha.

“I have been in the industry for eight years so I want to do different roles which challenge me. Audiences are also now encouraging unique content and there is an excitement in watching such films”, added the pretty actress during the live session on Facebook.

Talking about her performance and preparations for U-Turn, Samantha said “I actually tried as much as possible to not act in the film. For any film, as soon as the camera switched on, you tend to act but for my character in U-Turn,  I have to only react to the situation”.

Samantha also said that shooting emotional scenes twice in Tamil and Telugu drained her energy level. “Emotional scenes are the toughest and in case of U-Turn, I would have successfully performed one scene and my director would ask me to perform the same portion in Telugu (laughs)”.

Samantha is also thrilled with the viral response for the Karma theme song on the social media. “As there is no song in the film, Pawan and I decided to rope in Anirudh to sing a song for our film. He is the best when it comes to composing original hit songs. We decided that the song should have a catchy beat that attracts everyone and the dance steps should be attractive enough to mimic. There are more than 3500 posts on the Karma theme on Instagram and the song has become viral now”, said the actress.

Samantha said that she is a big believer of Karma and the film itself handled the concept. Talking about clashing with her husband Naga Chaitanya’s Shailaja Reddy Alludu, Samantha said that together they tried their level best to avoid the clash but now, they are hoping the best for both the films.

“I also have Seema Raja, the film has plenty of names so it will take care of itself. But U-Turn can take of itself only after the release but until then, we have to push it”, signed off Samantha.
