Actor turned politician Sarathkumar has supported Vijay Sethupathi's decision to act in the biopic of Sri Lankan cricketer Muthiah Muralidharan.
Sarath said that one shouldn't mix politics and arts. "An artist should have the freedom to act in whatever films he likes. People would enjoy the biopics of both Gandhi and Hitler so one should be first allowed to make films of his choice. There is a Central Board of Film Certification and they would not certify the content if the film has any objectionable scenes. We can oppose the film only after watching it", said Sarathkumar.
Earlier, Sarathkumar's wife Radhika and actress turned politician Khushbu also expressed a similar opinion on the Muralidharan biopic. Sources say that Sethupathi is likely to take a final decision on the biopic in a few more days.
