Biju Menon, Samvritha Sunil

Oru Vadakkan Selfie director G Prajith is back with Sathyam Paranja Viswasikkuvo, which has Biju Menon and Samvritha Sunil playing a married couple who are struggling in life.

Suni (Biju Menon) is a daily wages worker, who lives in a modest house with his wife Geetha (Samvritha Sunil) and their daughter. Geetha had left her home to be with Suni and is pretty sad about her husband’s drinking habit.

The initial scenes are mainly intended to generate laughs and to introduce the characters.

One night Suni finds a lorry that has just met with an accident. He is excited seeing that the lorry was carrying bottles of foreign liquor. He calls his friends and they decide to loot some boxes of liquor. Their troubles start from then on.

Prajith narrates a feel good story with limited surprises and not many twists and turns. It’s the kind of story where the characters and the backdrop is perhaps expected to take the story ahead. But when the makers attempt to add a mystery drama, the going becomes a bit shaky.

Also there is a parallel plot which involves the horse trading in a Panchayat but that episode fails to gel with the main plot. Still, this one ends up as an okay ride for the not so discerning viewer.

Biju Menon plays a construction worker with total dedication and he is impressive. Samvritha Sunil, who makes her comeback into movies after a while, is good. The rest of the cast have done their parts in a nice manner.

Sathyam Paranja Viswasikkuvo manages to invoke some thoughts about certain sections of the society who are otherwise ignored in the movies. This one could have been better but in the current form, it is an engaging one time watch.
