Sathyaraj has issued a video statement on the ongoing controversy in Karnataka against the release of Baahubali 2, where the actor plays an important role.

This video is out after the emotional statement of Baahubali 2’s director SS Rajamouli, who requested the people of Karnataka to ensure a smooth release.

“My heartfelt regrets to Kannadigas, who were hurt by my nine years old speech during the Cauvery protest. In the past nine years, more than 30 films of mine were released in Karnataka and I’m not against any Kannadigas. In fact, one of my close personal associates is a Kannadiga and several Kannada producers have approached me to act in their films but due to time constraints, couldn’t take up the offers”, said Sathyaraj in the video.

Sathyaraj has also mentioned he only plays a small role in the mighty Baahubali 2 but feels responsible for the huge financial loss of the producers. “In future, if producers ever think that casting a small actor like me would bring unnecessary issues, I request them to stay out. I feel proud as a Tamilian rather than an actor”, said Sathyaraj.

Sathyaraj has also promised Tamil people that he would continue to fight for them and thanked his well-wishers for understanding the delicate situation.
