Simran’s song of self-love a big hit

On Valentine’s Day, Simran released ">Mai Aur Meri Khwaishein, a music video directed by husband Deepak Bagga that follows her around everywhere. In just a month’s time, the catchy song on self-love has garnered over 1.4 million views.

Sung by Prateeksha Srivastava, the lovely tune is composed by Yug Bhusal with Swapnil Tiwari’s lyrics that is a tribute to individuality and ones desires. But look at the comments below and you’ll know the real reason for the song’s rise to the top - Simran and Simran alone.

It’s her Tamil fans who love that she’s the singular focus of the camera. Lyrics be damned when they’ve got their heartthrob singing her heart out. Or so they believe. Many have confessed that they do not understand the words but still love this video that’s up on her YouTube channel Simran & Sons.

There’s an outpouring in the comments section with fans pleading with her to return to the silver screen or release a Tamil album. With the numbers going up, Simran cannot ignore their call.

And it looks like we might not have to wait long. Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is a fan and loves this music video so much that he tweeted it. And that’s not all! He went on to say that “to work with you is sheer bliss because you make it look so easy.  It’s such a learning to watch you act! Announcement soon!”

The last we saw her was in Petta in 2019. Clearly, the fans are eager to see her more frequently on the big screen. And 2020 might just be the year we do.
