At the audio launch of his upcoming comedy entertainer ‘Monster’, SJ Suryah said: “I still remember how my first film producer Nic Arts SS Chakravarthy told me that I should forget getting ‘U’ certificate for my films. For the first time in history, a film featuring SJ Suryah got ‘U’ certificate and the credits must go to Monster director Nelson Venkatesan”.
Suryah also expressed how he was dejected as his films were delayed. “I was shooting for the Tamil-Hindi bilingual film with Amitabh sir. In a scene, he applied ‘Thilak’ on my forehead and within a few minutes, Nelson told me that Monster is scheduled to release on May 17”.
Suryah also hilariously explained how he acted in Monster for more than 15 days without any co-actors and the director’s confidence in shooting with the real rat. The film’s director Nelson said: “I decided to not shoot the rat’s portion in CG so we actually shot with a real rat. We started Monster as a small budget film and planned to complete in twenty days. But thanks to the scenes featuring rat, it took nearly 70 days”. Priya Bhavani Shankar plays Suryah’s pair in the film which also has Karunakaran in an important role.
Produced by SR Prabhu, the film is all set to release on May 17.
