When Thalapathy Vijay’s Lokesh Kanagaraj directed Master was announced, the producers XB Film Creators announced that it would be a April 9, Easter- Tamil New Year 2020 summer release. It was supposed to be the best weekend due to government holidays and closure of educational institutions.
But even the most carefully laid out plans sometimes go awry. The spread of the Coronavirus epidemic started worldwide including India and the government announced a 21-day lockdown. Master, with Vijay as hero and Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist was supposed to be the year’s most awaited film.
Now all that is history as the entire world is now fighting to stop the spread of coronavirus and theatres across the globe are shut down. And since movies are going to be the last in the priority list, nobody has any clue when theatres will reopen.
Meanwhile to keep the fans happy the producers of the film has come out with a striking new poster of Vijay wearing a ‘Kara’ a bracelet worn by Sardars and looking tense. The poster says – “Lockdown shouldn’t knock down our spirits! Master will meet you soon.....”
It has made the fans happy and they will continue to say their favourite word – “Waiting!”
