Sun Pictures, producers of Thalapathy Vijay’s Sarkar has issued a statement on why they agreed to delete and mute a few scenes in the film.
"The ruling party cadres protested against Sarkar and indulged in violence that they also vandalized the theaters screening the film. Following this incident, we acknowledged the request of theater owners and distributors to opt for a few cuts to the so-called controversial scenes only to ensure the safety of audiences in theaters ", read the statement.
Yesterday, Kadambur Raju, Minister of Information and Publicity said that as the objectionable scenes were removed, ADMK cadres will not protest against Sarkar." We don't have any personal animosity against Vijay ", said the Minister.
