Teejay Arunasalam, the musician turned actor who grabbed everyone's attention by playing the elder son of Dhanush in Asuran, has mentioned in his recent interaction that he walked of Muthiah Muralidharan's biopic 800 because the film depicts the war between Sri Lankan Government and Tamils, which didn't sound right to him.
The makers of the film approached Teejay to play the younger version of Muralidharan and Vijay Sethupathi plays the elder version.
Teejay says that his mom is an Eelam Tamil and he knows about the cruelty that happened to his community in Sri Lanka so he walked out of the film.
Teejay's decision has now added more pressure to Vijay Sethupathi because many Tamil activists and politicians also expressed their doubts on the politics of the film. Now, it's clear that 800 also talks about the war that happened in Sri Lanka.
