CommentsThe year 2020 started very well for Mollywood with quite a few new releases bringing in big crowds. No one had anticipated that things were going to take a dramatic twist soon, more like a cinematic style, as the outbreak of Covid 19 pandemic happened.
The theatres had to be closed down as the nation went on a lockdown.
Just now, on New Year day, the Kerala government has announced that the theatres will open from Jan 5 onwards.
With almost 50 releases, which include the less than a dozen OTT releases, Mollywood had only one-third of its usual yearly quota of movies hitting the theatres in 2020.
