Venky charms Selvaraghavan!

The lure of big money has trapped the young director Selvaraghavan to do a straight Telugu film and that too with a senior actor like Venkatesh. Selva who made a name in Tamil and had a hat-trick of hits there had sworn that he will only make films with newcomers or little-known actors.

But now he seems to be bitten by star bug. His 7-G Brindavan Colony is a super smash hit in Andhra and Venkatesh who is always on the look-out for intelligent and off-beat directors spotted Selva’s talent and won him over.

Venky is a charmer no doubt and remember he had also wooed Gautham Menon to do Gharshanaa, a remake of his successful Tamil film which had a lukewarm reception at the box-office. Says Selvaraghavan: “Venky is a gentleman, we just met once and he was able to persuade me to do a film for him”.

The producers are the makers of Vasantham and the surprise is that “the film is a family entertainer in which Venky plays a matured role”.
